As a contemporary narrative painter, I immerse myself in the realm of storytelling through visual expression. My goal is to capture human experiences by conveying familiar narratives through the power of paint. I believe that art is a collaborative experience, where the dialogue between artist and audience brings forth new perspectives and emotional resonance.
Donald Bradford was born and raised in Yuma, Arizona. He had an unusual childhood, growing up around the family owned 24 hour marriage business. The wedding chapel was in the home, right off of the kitchen.
Donald received his Bachelor of Fine Arts from the University of Arizona in Tucson before moving to California where he received his MFA in painting, drawing and performance art from the University of California in Santa Barbara. Upon graduation Donald moved to San Francisco where he became lead illustrator for a product development company specializing in beach and home textiles for the retail industry. Later, along with 3 partners, Donald took over the product development company and moved it to Berkeley, California. Recently he has retired and works full time in his painting studio and home in Oakland, California.
